I missed you today...

I missed you today,

warmly greeting me at the door. You were always happy to see me, which makes me miss you even more.

I won't soon forget you, or the memories we shared. Oh, the countless ways you showed me you cared!

We knew the time would come when we would have to part. Those memories of you will always stay in my heart.

You were always gentle and loving until the end. Forever in my heart,

my beloved companion and friend.

I can finally let you go, and know I will be okay. But just know, I missed you today...

There's something missing in my home, I feel it day and night,

I know it will take time and strength, Before things feel quite right.

But just for now, I need to mourn. My heart... it needs to mend. Though some may say it's "just a pet" I know I've lost a friend.

You've brought such laughter to my home, and richness to my days...

A constant friend through joy or loss, With gentle loving ways.

Companion, pal, and confidante, A friend I won't forget,

You'll live for always in my heart, My sweet forever pet.
